Description

The MAX30102 is a high-sensitivity, low-power pulse oximetry and heart-rate monitor biosensor module. It integrates a red LED, an infrared (IR) LED, photo-detectors, optical elements, and low-noise analog signal processing circuitry into a single compact package.
Operating on a standard I²C interface, it utilizes photoplethysmography (PPG) to measure blood oxygen saturation (SpO₂) and heart rate by analyzing the light absorption variance in pulsing arterial blood. It features an internal temperature sensor for ambient calibration and a software shutdown mode with near-zero standby current, making it ideal for wearable electronics, fitness trackers, and medical monitoring devices.
